Experience is from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Sunday evenings during the school year, and is for Middle Schoolers at the Church on the Hill Salem Campus.
Our ministry is for students to be in a safe space, encounter Jesus and be discipled. With a flexible agenda of dinner, game, worship, a message, and small groups, the goal of a Tuesday night is for students to know God, grow in Him, and go for Him.

Middle School Youth Pastor
Micah Herring
Micah grew up in a missions-minded family, giving him a big heart for people. He loves coffee, disc golf, and hanging out with family. He and his wife, Samantha, have two energetic boys, David, Ezra, along with sweet baby Esther. The Herrings have been helping with the youth at Church on the Hill for 4 years and are excited to see the youth get wrecked for Jesus.

For the past eight years, Taylor has worked with youth through Fellowship of Christian Athletes and as one of Church on the Hill’s youth pastors. It is here that he found a passion for engaging, equipping, and empowering students to be disciple-makers. Taylor loves to see youth come alive in their faith and love for Jesus! Taylor and his wife Melissa have two wonderful kiddos: Judah and Georgia.

Salem Youth Volunteers
For our youth leaders, the biggest expectation we have is that they are actively growing in their own relationship with Jesus. We want our leaders to understand that they aren’t just there to supervise students or help run a program. They have the opportunity to model what following Jesus looks like. Our hope is that a student could look at the way their leader worships, serves, speaks, treats others, responds to correction, and pursues God and see an example worth following. Like Paul says in 1 Corinthians 11:1, “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”
Along with that, we expect leaders to uphold the values and standards of our church, maintain appropriate and healthy boundaries with students, support the direction of the youth ministry, and be dependable and engaged. Ultimately, we want leaders who genuinely love Jesus, love students, and are committed to helping students take their next steps in their faith.
